Welcome everyone!

For about three years I have been meeting with a knitting group at a yarn shop in town. A few weeks ago, we lost our instructor to cancer. Several of the knitters have known her for many years and we decided to continue meeting as a group, carrying on her legacy. Strange how this is a reflection of the book published a few years ago.
What will the posts be about? It will be not only what we are working on, what we have finished(which seems to be a challenge for a few of us), but also what we eat, drink and talk about as a group! Basically a recap of our Monday night meeting.
I am hoping several of us will go on and add to the posts and the blog will develop. We look forward to seeing comments and would love to hear from you!

What are you doing up at 4:47 AM creating a blog? You are too much!!! That's one of the reasons I love our Monday Night Girls - we are eclectic! We have a young mother who brings energy and all the remembered joys of motherhood to us. We have a smart glass ceiling breaker adventurous retired but busier and more active than most teens woman. We have a mother hen, caring ,capable funny knitting guru. We have a slightly ditzy, incredibly stronger than she thought,
generous and cute as a button girl. We make it work!!!!That's our motto! No matter what the stitsch count is or what life brings us we make it work.

My stitch count was off after Monday and I didn't have any Pinot-so did some unknitting!!!

Maybe the stitch count was off because you didn't have any Pinot! I'm interested in this magic loop technique. I saw it done by someone as the start of a market shopping bag. The woman was totally focused on it - no chatting just concentration. Do you think we can learn it with or without Pinot?

The magic loop method is a cool method to know. I took the class with Sheila at YDU, made mittens....many many mittens! Unfortunately I think the Pinot might be a distraction. But no big deal, an extra hole can be an air vent! Besides...what is our motto?

We also talked about Lisa's mustard recipe which sounds intriguing for sure. Of course I'm interested because it has chilies in it. Now if we can only find her the big tub of Gulden's spicy brown mustard! I hope she remembers to bring the recipe. Lisa also had to make her son a brisket after he attended a jewish holiday event and he ate brisket! I personally love brisket and have made it a number of ways from pot roasted type to BBQ which to my mind and buds rules.
